Walker, Griffiths banned

Omar Walker and Winston 'Fanna' Griffiths, both many-time champion jockeys, have been suspended by the stewards for careless riding at Caymanas Park on separate racedays.

Walker, who rode ROSE GOLD in the ninth race on Saturday, March 19, starts a two-day suspension tomorrow, this for causing interference to the favourite TERRA MARIQUE in the vicinity of the 700-metre point.

Griffiths was suspended by the stewards at Tuesday's hearing for careless riding aboard SHYANA in the second race, his mount causing interference to SURREAL leaving the half mile. His two-day suspension commences tomorrow as well.

Apprentice Jodeien Anderson, who rode EMPEROR HALL in the first race on Wednesday, March 22, received a one-day suspension for causing interference to third past the post HARLAN'S DANCER a furlong out, resulting in the disqualification of his mount from second place.

Apprentice Ansley Dancel was suspended for a total of five race days for separate riding infringements. Aboard DIAMOND VALLEY in the eighth race on March 26, he received three days for the interference caused to CROWN JEWEL and MUMBAI MAESTRO in the last 400 metres.

This suspension commences tomorrow, while he picked up two further racedays for foul riding aboard disqualified winner HEY TRAIN in the closing race on March 26, causing interference to the runner-up MOJITA JAM, who was subsequently awarded the race. This suspension will take effect on Easter Monday, April 25.

Meanwhile, female apprentice Georgian Surgeon, who rode FLUFFY in the sixth race on March 26, was severely cautioned for the interference caused to RUSSIAN COMMANDER approaching the half mile.
