With this year marking the eighth anniversary of the Liguanea Art Festival, organisers are gearing up for what they expect to be another successful staging come Sunday.

A few days ago, media and specially invited guests, were treated to food, art and music, the three core features which have helped the festival to grow from strength to strength, pulling hundreds of art lovers and curious patrons each year.

Regarded as a family showcase, the festival provides a platform for painters, ceramists, photographers, jewellers and sculptors, both young and old to display their work in a positive, friendly environment.

Founders of the art festival, Tony and June Wong, also provide workshops for children at each staging, giving them an opportunity to interact and learn different art forms.

Amongst the list of some 80 artists who will be in attendance this year are Jeffrey Perry, who does charcoal portraits, photographer Franz Marzouca and Phillip Supersad.
