Trinidadian model wins ticket to carnival

Trinidadian model Dominique Armorer was the lucky winner of a costume in Bacchanal Jamaica and an airline ticket on Air Jamaica at the Soho Sexy party recently held in New York.

Dominique, a Trinidadian model based in New York, was elated at her surprise win and looks forward to her first trip to Jamaica for carnival.

"I amsuper excited to have won anything, farless a trip toJamaica forcarnival! I was stunned and a bit confused at firstwhen my name was called since I never win a thing! I can't wait to jump up and get my soca fix on the road in my costume! I have started counting down the days! I will definitely be taking advantage!" she said.

Charmaine Franklin of the popular carnival outfit said: "Bacchanal Jamaica is pleased to be associated with Ocean Style as we welcome Dominique to our carnival activities. Now a part of the Jamaican entertainment calendar, Bacchanal Jamaica is an all-inclusive band that promises her the time of her life as we do more fun, more fête, more Bacchanal!"

Soho Sexy: the After Carnival Experience was held by IslandEvents.com and TheLastSoulBoay and took place on March 26 in New York City.

Born and raised in Diego Martin, Trinidad, Dominique started modelling at the tender age of 12 for local fashion shows and newspapers, ultimately being signed internationally at 15 when discoveredat a fashionshow.

Dominique currently resides in New York where she is represented by Qmodels. She stays busy and travels extensively but remains very gracious and appreciative of where her career has taken her.

"I have been fortunate and blessed that my career has taken me around the world to places such as Vienna, London, Mauritius, Cape Town and Hawaii, to name a few.

Yesterday, I shot with one of my favourite clients, Miss Tina (Beyoncé's mother) and I have a hair shoot next week.Jamaica (Carnival) comes at a perfect time - so I can have a mini-vacation."

Widely considered a very versatile model, able to fit into most genres, Dominique has done catalogue, runway, editorial and commercial work for numerous clients within the United States, including Dereon, Miss Tina, Macys, Nordstrom, Target, JC Penny, L'Oreal, Joico, Garnier Fructis, Aveda, Levis, Reaction by Kenneth Cole, Mizani and Hush Puppies.
