With soca music and the sound of drums, singing and chanting filling the night air at Barbican Beach, Smirnoff's beach J'ouvert media launch got under way.
Beach umbrellas and chairs were set up to create a Beach J'ouvert atmosphere as well as to create a visual of what the event will look like next week.
The Smirnoff ladies were also out with beach balls in hand to give a taste of what patrons can look forward to.
Organisers of Beach J'ouvert, Bachannal's drinks-inclusive event which is set to be held at James Bond Beach, Oracabessa, St Mary, promised an occasion capable of providing an enjoyable, exciting experience for patrons.
Speaking at the launch, Marsha Lumley, Smirnoff's brand manager, said, "We're gonna do what we're known for; memorable, unexpected experiences. Smirnoff Beach J'ouvert is a marquee event on the bacchanal series calendar; we all look forward to it."
She went on to implore all to come out and enjoy the day's proceedings while enjoying Smirnoff responsibly, and she did not fail to caution those present not to miss out on the experience.
"April 23rd just can't come quick enough," she said.
Popular soca artiste Destra Garcia, known for her many hits, will provide live entertainment for patrons, and Trinidad's DJ Private Ryan and DJ Smoke will churn out soca selections from the turntables.
Although Smirnoff is the night's title sponsor, other attractions from sponsors will also be set up and available for use by patrons such as Good Life's 'water zone', Digicel's 'cool zone' and Carreras' foam pit.
