Whoever said lawyers don't know how to have fun, never experienced Bar Beat before.

Held at The Pub on the Devon House property, the event was executed by the Bar Association of Jamaica as a means of allowing members of the bar to kick back and relax on a starry night.

But the event also had deeper significance. While on the surface, lawyers chatted and danced the night away, beneath the ripples of pleasure were the needs of the Glenhope Place of Safety. The Bar Association of Jamaica saw the need and used Bar Beat to help, at least in part, to 'stop a gap'.

The Glenhope Place of Safety houses girls who have been removed from their families and are in need of care and protection.

The event was slated to begin at 9 p.m. but in true Jamaican fashion, the patrons who each paid $1,200 a piece didn't begin to arrive until minutes after 10 p.m. If you were to ask the girls at Glenhope Place of Safety, better late than never.

Stylishly decked out in trendy ensembles, the men and women of the bar were well treated with food and drink provided by the Devon House restaurant.

The venue was ideal for the event, as the outdoor setting, against the backdrop of Devon House, created a calming ambience.

Those in attendance let their hair down. The musical styling of DJ Smoke of Renaissance Disco also aided in creating, more than just a place to lyme.

Inside The Pub, a small dancefloor slowly got crowded, as lawyers left the relaxing atmosphere outside to heat things up.

The music jumped genres regularly, DJ Smoke, ensuring there was something for everyone blaring from the speakers at some point.

The event carried on into the wee hours of the morning, as Smoke seemed limitless in what he could deliver to Bar Beat, the lawyers showing they were just as in tune with the music as anyone else.
