Jamalco dent TG's hopes

Jamalco turned in a spirited performance to defeat defending champions Tivoli Gardens 'A' 50-43 and remain in contention for a place in the final of the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/Berger Paints Super League competition.
Former national captain and goal shooter, Elaine Davis, led the way for the Winston Nevers-coached Jamalco with a superb 40 goals from 41 attempts.
Davis received solid support from Marsha Murphy, 10 goals from 14 tries, as they rallied to outscore their opponents 28-20 in the final two quarters to claim victory.

Jamalco have now recorded their third win in four outings this season.
"It is big morale booster for us because they are the defending champions and they are also one of the top teams in the competition, and so this win will keep us in the runnings for the title," said Nevers.
Tivoli led 36-35 at half-time in the Saturday encounter at the National Stadium Courts.
Cleopatra Grant (17 from 22 tries), Sabrina Spence (17 from 21) and Jodian Ffrench (nine from 16) were the scorers for the Sylvester Campbell-coached Tivoli, who were suffering their second defeat in four matches.
In the day's other games, unbeaten Waulgrovians 'A' recorded their fourth straight victory, when they brushed aside the University of the West Indies (UWI) Revolution 44-24.

National goal shooter Jhanielle Fowler led the way for the Waulgrovians with a game-high 25 goals from 36 attempts. Fowler received solid support from former national captain Simone Forbes (17 from 20) and Nordia Hanson (two from two).
Zalika Paul (14 from 24) and Misha-Gaye DaCosta (11 from 23) were the scorers for UWI Revolution.
Former national Under-16 representative, Deneen Taylor, scored 31 goals from 41 attempts to lead Windalco to an easy 48-36 win over Mico.
Taylor received solid support from national player Anna-Kay Griffiths (17 from 27). Sharna Carradice (22 from 32), Patricia McCalla (10 from 17) and Vanessa Walker (four from four) scored for Mico.
