  • Pretentious Brit

Bang Showbiz:

Robert Pattinson used to pretend he knew the British royal family when he went to the United States (US).

The Water for Elephants star - who was born and raised in London, England - has never met any of the monarchy, but continues to be surprised people believe that he has just because he comes from the United Kingdom (UK).

Speaking on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', Robert said: "I don't think I've ever met them. I used to tell people when I came to the States that I did. They believed me!

"Five or six years ago when I first used to come to Los Angeles, there weren't many English people, now there are like a million and people still believe me."

The 24-year-old actor continues to travel between Canada, the US and the UK for work, and manages to do so with restricted luggage - although he still loses things.

He joked: "I have three bags. Luckily, I wear the same thing every single day. But I still manage to lose things."

Robert stars alongside Reese Witherspoon in his new movie Water for Elephants - about a man who works on a travelling circus during the US depression - but was not scared about working with any of the big animals on set because he has never been hurt by one.

He revealed: "I worked with everything, everything we could think of. I guess because I've never been hurt by an animal, I just innately trust them. It's completely idiotic."

  • Greedy X-man

Bang Showbiz:

Hugh Jackman has broken his diet for the new Wolverine movie.

The 42-year-old actor has been in training for his big-screen return as the claw-wielding Marvel superhero but he caved into temptation while in Paris, France.

Jackman - who is married to Deborra-Lee Furness - wrote on his twitter page: "Quick 2 day break in Paris meant Wolverine diet was put on hold! Great spring weather. Loved exploring the Rodin museum. Now back 2 work! (sic)"

New movie The Wolverine will be the fifth time he has reprised the X-Men role, for which he needs to be in top physical condition.

Earlier this week, Jackman said: "Wolverine is coming back, so the claws are out. The chops aren't grown yet but I'm starting to - the guns are getting there."

The actor's fitness and diet regime for the action-packed movie involves him eating six protein-rich, low-fat meals a day to bulk up.

He previously said: "I expect to see four chicken breasts and a whole pile of steamed broccoli on my plate. I have six meals a day."

  • Bieber influence

Bang Showbiz:

Justin Bieber has been included on TIME magazine's annual 100 most influential people list.

The 17-year-old pop star will join celebrities including Mark Wahlberg, Bruno Mars, Chris Colfer, Blake Lively, Sting and Amy Poehler on the list and although Charlie Sheen has not been included, Justin admitted the former Two and a Half Men star would be his choice for the number-one spot.

The Baby singer explained: "(It) has got to be Charlie Sheen. He's got a million followers in one day on twitter. I've never seen that happen before. Plus, he's got tiger blood, and he's always winning."

However, Justin currently has almost nine million twitter followers, while Charlie has just over three and a half million.

The honour comes after a particularly successful year for Justin, which saw him release his debut movie Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D and have his second album Never Say Never: The Remixes top the United States's Billboard charts.

Those individuals who have made the 100 most influential people list will be honoured at the TIME 100 Gala which will be held at Jazz at the Lithe Time Warner Centre in New York on Tuesday.

  • Big bucks to stay at Hilton's

Bang Showbiz:

Paris Hilton's former Los Angeles home is up for rent for US$20,000 a month.

During her time in the west Hollywood Spanish-style house, the socialite - who sold the house soon after she was released from prison after she was incarcerated for driving under the influence while on a drink driving charge - decorated the abode with pictures of herself, Fendi pillows and a stripper pole and it is unclear if the current owners have changed the decor.

The 3,000 square-foot house which features three bathrooms, four bedrooms, a pool, hot tub, waterfall and hotel-style cabanas, as well as separate guest quarters and an office sold for US$4.25 million in 2007.

Paris - who is dating nightclub owner Cy Waits - currently lives in a 7,000 square-foot Beverly Hills mansion.

Meanwhile, the reality TV star caused controversy at the Coachella music festival last weekend when she tried to skip the queue at the on-site carnival.

Although Paris - who was with her sister Nicky - bypassed the line of fellow partygoers, she was left red faced when the security guards ordered her to the back of the line and made a quick exit.
