Youngsters look to lead BT home

Two of the youngest members in Boy's Town's squad, Jamiel Hardware and Marvin Morgan, have proven themselves to be vital members of the team, which is vying for their first national league title in 21 years.

Both players are expected to figure today when Boys' Town make the short trip to the Edward Seaga Complex to tackle league leaders, Tivoli Gardens, in the final round of the season. Tivoli lead the standings on 69 points with their opponents just a point adrift, making the clash a winner-takes-all affair.

Morgan is looking forward to the encounter, which promises to be an intense affair.

"It is like a blockbuster movie," Morgan pronounced. "I know it is going to be rough and the heat is going to be on in the Edward Seaga Complex, but I have full confidence in Boys' Town.

"We are always going hard and going for the win, so if we play our game we will come away with the trophy," he added.

first league goal

The 18-year-old has chosen the ideal moment to start scoring as he netted his first league goal in an important 2-1 away win over Portmore United and followed it up with another in last week's 2-0 win over Waterhouse.

Morgan, who has followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather who both represented the club at the top local level, believes this has been a great experience.

"This is the best thing that has ever happened to me," Morgan expressed. "There is so much unity in the team and the way the team plays."

Hardware, in his second season with the senior team and his first out of high school, has found the back of the net on three occasions and has been an integral member of the midfield unit.

"It has been a wonderful experience, as a youngster just coming out of Manning Cup things have been wonderful with the team," Hardware said.

The 19-year-old who has been with the Red Brigade from age 12 concedes that playing in the league has been challenging.

"It is a lot of work, because when I was playing for Bridgeport I didn't do a lot of work as I had the midfielders to help me out, but here, I have to be up and down the flanks and it has been tough," Hardware shared.
