The St Kitts and Nevis government says it will look to Israel for assistance in dealing with the upsurge in criminal activities here and outlined a series of new initiatives to deal with what National Security Minister Sam Condor labelled a "grave national problem".

In a national television and radio broadcast, Condor said that because of their expertise in gang warfare, the government of Israel "will be requested in addition to the training in intelligence gathering to assist in our efforts at apprehending and prosecuting criminals and gang members".

He listed 10 new initiatives including new legislation such as the 'The Broken Windows Theory' as detailed in United States legislation and some Caribbean states that "there is no minor crime and if things are broken fix them immediately".
