Times are challenging and as many persons seek ways to make ends meet, Jamaica Broilers, makers of the Reggae Jammin products, have launched a food cart that will provide an excellent income-generating opportunity.

The food cart is the perfect vehicle to market the company's frankfurters and burgers. And, since the launch of the Reggae Jammin Chicken Frankfurter, the product line has been extended to include Jumbo Chicken Franks.

In addition to preparing hot dogs, the Jammin cart also facilitates the preparation of hamburgers, kebabs, sausage and beans, among other delightful quick meals.

The mobile vending business model has done remarkably well internationally and, through the Reggae Jammin brand, it will be successful in Jamaica, as evident from the overwhelming response since the launch of the the Entrepreneurship Programme. The Entrepreneurship Programme is geared to stimulate small business growth, as well as give consumers the opportunity to experience the flavourful essence of the Reggae Jammin brand by easily accessing the product not only in the retail trade but also from the Jammin cart.

Dimensions

The body of the cart is 24" wide x 40" long x 24 inches". The trailer is 39" wide x 76" long x 54" high. It has a highway-rated trailer with half-ton suspension, electrical brake and signal lights, plus trailer wiring harness installed. The cart's body is made of 18-gauge stainless steel.

The undercarriage has highway tyres plus one caster wheel and the weight of the cart is 250lb (115kg) approximately when empty. There are three sinks - standard, a fresh water five-gallon tank and seven-gallon wastewater tank.

There is a cooler storage, an insulated top entry icebox for up to 65 sodas, plus meat, a dry storage topside display area plus additional under-counter dry storage. It can accommodate a propane 2 x 20lb tank, and two-stage regulator. The 17,000 BTU burner has adjustable control and a 1/2-foot high wind umbrella. Other features are three steamer pans as well as hot and cold running water.

Additional equipment options are a barbecue grill and condiments tray.

  • Great concept, and the food was good too!
  • The cart's design is wonderful, the layout and colours were very pleasing; it showed planning and organisation.
