ONLINE FEEDBACK

Wednesday's column by Din Duggan is another example of opinion writers who operate divorced from reality.

Golding an "engaged world leader"? World leaders have the economic clout of their countries to earn their status. What has this near-bankrupt country done to enable Golding to join this club?

Then Golding bemoans the loss of preferential trade agreements and the ineligibility of Jamaica for external debt relief. This dubbed "world leader" is no more than a perpetual beggar of international organisations and foreign governments. He and the country apparently refuse to admit their insignificance in the international arena.

I am regular reader of Claude Clarke's columns and I have always encouraged my friends to do same. His commentary is always precise and to the point, and I have realised this is one individual who understands the dynamics of the Jamaican economy.

I wish all of Mr Clarke's articles could be placed in a book. This would make good read. Great job, Mr Clarke, you are a patriot!
