GREAT FALLS, Montana (AP):

Blaine County officials say a single-engine crop-dusting plane crashed about 50 yards from a north-central Montana farmhouse, killing the pilot.

County Commissioner Vic Miller says the plane crashed at about 5:15 a.m. yesterday between Turner and Hogeland. The name of the pilot is being withheld while family members were notified.

The pilot's body was being taken to the state crime lab in Missoula for autopsy.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
