Brown, Chin, Atkinson, Blakeley top rivals at trials

Wesley Brown shot an even par on Sunday's final day of the national trials at Cinnamon Hill Golf Club to top the men's section with 291.
The trials, which are being held to help select Jamaica's team to the Caribbean Championships, saw Keith Stein ending 10 strokes back on 301 after he shot a 76 on the final day. Sean Morris of Cinnamon Hill Golf Club finished third with a combined score of 304. He also shot 76 in his final round.
Robert Chin carded 77 to clinch first place in the Seniors with 319. Greg Chong had 83 strokes to finish the day with a total of 342. He was tied in second with Wayne Chai Chong, who had 81. Bert Tomlinson finished third on 347.
Dennis Atkinson maintained his hold on the lead in the Super Seniors with a round of 79 (total 322), six shots ahead of Fred Sutherland (328). Lincoln Williams scored 80 for a total of 334.
Leiza Blakeley topped the ladies' group with 331 after shooting her best round of the trials (78). Michele Gabay ended the trials with 359 strokes after shooting 88 on Sunday.
Sally Roper finished third on 377.
The national team to the 2011 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in Trinidad & Tobago will be decided by the selection committee of the Jamaica Golf Association.
