Western Bureau:
Montego Bay was 'diagnosed' with a splendid kick off ATI media launch and party at Pier One in Montego Bay over the weekend that helped to propel the hype of the weekend series of parties in Negril.
The 11th staging of ATI Weekend is slated for July 29-August 1 in Negril, however, the tourism capital saw a glimpse of what is expected to take place with the highly anticipated party dubbed 'Officially Diagnosed'.
Officially Diagnosed is a new addition to the line-up of ATI events this summer and was well received by hundreds of hungry ATI party fans who turned out for the event.
According to Steffan Chad-Haughton of Antidote Entertainment this is the first time an event based in Montego Bay was added to the official line-up of events for ATI this summer.
"I feel honoured to be the first western Jamaica party to be a part of the ATI Weekend line of events and it just goes to show that it is not only in Kingston that great events can be originated. Montego Bay can show how the west was won," the elated party promoter revealed.
Excellent partnership
He added that each year Officially Diagnosed is held on the last Saturday in June and this new-found partnership is something that will benefit both entities.
"This is an excellent partnership that will not only build the line of Antidote Entertainment parties and add to the brand ATI. This is something that we have been working on for years and we hope to build on and continue to grow with the ATI brand," Chad-Haughton said.
The ATI events are Naked, Pretty in Pink, Colours, Wild Sides, Stages, Smudge, Officially Diagnosed and Heatwave.
Under the musicial allure of Montego Bay's Crazy Neil, Izzy and Kingpin, the crowd that kept filling the Pier One venue was kept busy throughout their set as they juggled hip hop and dancehall favourites. Chromatic out of Kingston represented himself well and produced his usual mixes that ignited the dance floor that set the tone for Ocho Rios' ace selectors Timeless and Illusion.
