'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' best of all

Explosions, fight scenes, mayhem, cool graphics and a sense of humour make Transformers: Dark of the Moon a classic summer blockbuster, but with a 3D twist.

The movie was released this week, but LIME gave the media a special pre-release showing on Tuesday at Carib 5 that had persons cheering at the end of the movie. Supposedly, the last movie in the Transformer's franchise, Transformers 3 tops its predecessors on graphics and action scenes. In a series of 3D movies to hit the theatres of late, it delivers more of an exciting experience than others released since 2011.

The film sees the return of of Shia LaBeouf as 'Sam Witwicky' and picks up after the Egyptian adventures in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, where he saves the world once again. Witwicky, although equipped with a college degree and a hot, new girlfriend in the form of Victoria's Secret's model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, is finding life after the defeat of the Decepticons not that easy.

Along his path to discovering more about himself and saving the world for the third time, Witwicky introduces audiences to new cast members Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Patrick Dempsey and Ken Jeong, who breathe a sense of humour into the action flick. Malkovich, Jeong, LeBeouf and a few smart Autobots will give moviegoers a fair share of laughs. The Autobots also have some new additions as they head out to space to rescue the battle weary Sentinel Prime, mentor to Autobots leader Optimus Prime.

While a much better watch than Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the plot of Transformers: Dark of the Moon still struggles to bring all the cast members together while incorporating aspects of popular American history. Despite this, the action sequences and humour will give fans a good time at the theatre.

Unlike Transformers 2, in which the fight scenes go into hyperdrive, in this flick, the fights between the Autobots and the Decepticons are slowed down, with Matrix, like scenes. In Transformers 3, the humans also do their fair share of Decepticon thrashing as well.

If Transformers 3 is the last installment in the series as speculated, director Michael Bay made up for the disappointment of its predecessor and ended the robot flick franchise on a high.
