Little Ochie attracts telecoms giant
Following a successful staging of the Little Ochie Seafood festival last year, telecommunications company Digicel has announced that it will be backing the event for another year when the festival takes place today at Little Ochie in St Elizabeth.
Senior sponsorship manager of Digicel, Shelly-Ann Curran, noted that Digicel will be maintaining its gold sponsorship for the event this year and promises that the festival will be an exciting and wholesome family affair. "Digicel's sponsorship of this festival is a true testament to our commitment to preserving and adding value to an important staple in the Jamaican culinary calendar," said Curran.
"The Little Ochie Seafood Festival plays a pivotal role in integrating members of the tourism community and creating opportunities for development; as over the years, proceeds from the festival have been donated to several causes and charities such as education and community development - all pillars that Digicel supports wholeheartedly," she added.
Digicel a proud partner
"A festival of this magnitude truly pulls the community together, and Digicel is proud to be a part of such an initiative."
The festival, which is being staged for the 13th time will offer a great entertainment package and a feel good family vibe - all mixed with succulent seafood dishes.
In addition to the food and live entertainment which will include Byron Lee's Dragonaires and 2008 Digicel Rising Stars winner - Cameal Davis.
Davis is also expected to display her culinary skills as she is slated to be involved in the celebrity cook-off of the lionfish.
