McCook is back

Jamaican Neville 'Teddy' McCook was re-elected president of the North American, Central American and Central Athletic Association (NACAC) at yesterday's congress in Puerto Rico.

McCook, who once again got the better of St Vincent and the Grenadines' Keith Joseph, whom he also bettered at the last election in Osaka, Japan, in 2007, won by a 25-6 margin, ensuring another four-year term for the former president of the Jamaica Athletics Administration Association.

McCook also retained his post as area representative of the IAAF when Joseph withdrew his candidacy, after suffering another loss in the race for the NACAC vice-presidency, which was won by Noel Lynch of Barbados; 18-13.

The new NACAC executive comprises; vice-president, Lynch; treasurer, Alain Jean Pierre with council member, Donna Watson, Bermuda; Geen Clarke, Costa Rica; Alan Baboolal, Trinidad, and Bob Hersh, USA.

Affiliates

The NACAC congress was held at the Myaguez Resort & Casino in Puerto Rico ahead of the start of the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Champion-ships and was represented by presidents, general secretaries and members for all of NACAC 32-member countries.
