Thursday talk
The PM's dilemma
1. Some are saying since the commission of enquiry report found the PM's behaviour "inappropriate", and given that Ronald Robinson's resignation letter cited "inappropriate behaviour" as the reason for his resignation, and with the PM's own "inappropriate behaviour" in regard to Manatt hiring, what action will the PM take against the JLP leader who led the nation into the debacle?
Dollyhouse happenings
2. The marriage out west was over two weeks ago, and the groom took special care to make sure the press was not present. Now, the dollyhouse continues. He spends late nights with the wife and returns early mornings to the love nest, to his live-in lady love of many years at their home with their love child! Some say the wife is aware of the love nest, but the live-in love is not aware of the marriage!
Leader growing weak
3. Observers say as the ranks of the backbenchers swell, correspondingly, the leader grows weaker!
Mexican stand-off
4. Those present say it was nearly a case of gunfight at the OK Corral. Only this time, the location was a popular Kingston nightspot. Some say visiting sportsmen were out on the town and, while at a popular nightspot, one attempted to speak to a young lady present. The lady politely rebuffed the entreaty and the would-be suitor moved on. Well, all thought the matter was over, but when the party of nine left the spot, their exit was blocked by a SUV, lights blaring and an armed man waving a firearm menacingly. Turned out that a number of others were armed, so they all went for their firearms and this led to a stand-off! Turned out that the armed one blocking the exit to the popular nightspot was the husband of the lady who was approached earlier and he felt dissed, so he decided to take matters in his own hands!
The mayor's plight
5. Some say it's definitely a case of how not to win friends and influence enemies, as the mayor was at his pedestrian best when he spoke to the garbage collection representative at the council chambers recently.
'Free' guns?
6. Concerns are being raised in many quarters about the many suspicious characters and others of questionable past who have been issued with firearm permits! Some in the know say the permits are for sale in some jurisdictions, fetching as much as $300,000 per applicant, and more if the applicant has a criminal conviction!
Drama at the residence
7. The husband moved out of the family home and into the official residence sometime ago. Some say because the overseas-based one was on the island for an extended period recently, the wife moved into the official residence as a precautionary move and has been starring in all kinds of late-night and early-morning drama since!
