THE EDITOR, Sir:

I don't know why people are making much ado about nothing when G2K pointed out the obvious to you all.

Of course, many of our talk-show hosts, commentators and analysts - political and financial - have varied partisan persuasions. It's the same anywhere else in the world. What we need to do now is set a standard across media in how these persons project themselves. The Press Association of Jamaica and the Media Association Jamaica Limited should take note.

Additionally, anyone who is honest with himself will readily realise that the PNP has a distinct advantage in commentary land. The same is true in sections of academia and civil society.

That wall of support crumbled somewhat simply because of the ascendancy of Portia Simpson Miller to the leadership of the PNP. And it is no secret that the pro-PNP traditional media chatocracy with their petite bourgeois values are in no way, shape or form accepting of Simpson Miller.

The JLP must take note. The JLP needs to encourage its many intelligent supporters to become more vocal and supportive. The relaxed attitude must be put to an end.

Congratulations to G2K for having the balls to say it as it is.
