Miss Jamaica World contestants sashed

By noon on Saturday, the Sovereign Centre was overflowing with patrons and pageant lovers who came out to witness the sashing and formal public parade of the 20 Miss Jamaica World finalists.
All three levels of the shopping mall had patrons that definitely came to support a contestant and others who came to shop and got caught in the excitement. It was pandemonium when all 20 finalists appeared on the 3rd level overlooking their fans, family and friends.
Whistles were blowing, hands were clapping, banners were raised and cheers filled the shopping centre.
All that was missing was the sounds of two dutch pot covers slamming against each other.
The girls made their way down several flights of stairs, parading in flowing summer dresses provided by TNT fashions.
The bold colours, loose-yet-cool material and intricate designs, added the flair that was needed for the girls to strike a fierce pose for the cameras.
Emcees of the day's proceedings, Denise Hunt and Adrian Atkinson, did a good job at keeping the audience entertained with giveaways and trivia questions from sponsors,
Modelling in swimsuits courtesy of the Mushroom, all 20 finalists were then sashed. The pre-sponsored girls were sashed first. Zahra McGraham , Roxanne Elliott, Reeshma Ragbeer, Renée Harris, Kayla Mendes, Danielle Crosskill, Arielle Foote and Hollander Myers were those sashed at that point.
The remaining contestants were entered into a lottery draw, courtesy of Supreme Ventures, with each sponsor holding a number that corresponded to the numbers that would be drawn.
The final sashing then went on to read:
