Cayman whip Argentina

LAUDERHILL, Florida (CMC):

The Cayman Islands bounced back from a 10-wicket thrashing by Bermuda to beat winless Argentina by four wickets in the six-nation ICC Americas Region Division One Twenty20 tournament - won by Canada - which ended at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground over the weekend.

The Caymans, who finished fourth in the table, restricted Argentina to 90 for seven from their 20 overs with Donald Forrester top scoring with 22.

Despite a middle-order wobble in which three wickets tumbled for 15 runs, the Caymans eased home with two balls to spare.

Runners-up the United States (US), the defending champions, hit back from their 10-run defeat against Canada by beating third-place Bermuda by seven wickets.

Opting to field first, the US restricted Bermuda to 91 for seven with Guyana-born left-arm spinner Bhim George snaring two for 12 and Muhammad Ghous and Samarth Shah also taking two wickets apiece.

Opener Sushil Nadkarni stroked an unbeaten 39 as the US reached their target with four overs to spare.
