Lake, Walter tie in EFJ's Super League

Adam Lake, Jason Walter, Frankie Chin, Jordon Williams and Alex Chin were the overall winners in the Equestrian Federation of Jamaica's (EFJ) final leg of the Super, High, Medium and Low League last Sunday, July 24, at the Kingston Polo Club and Equestrian Centre.

The Super League with the most challenging jump heights for the day at 1.20 metres saw Lake, Walter and Gabriella Ralston at their best. For the third leg of this competition, Lake on his champion horse Alex's Pegasus won with five faults and 24 points ahead of Walter with 13 faults with 24 points on Shambal, to place second, and Ralston with 20 points and 16 faults on Miss Fran for third. Lake and Walter tied as the 'super jumpers' overall with a total of 46 points each, and Ralston placed third with 31 points.

The High League winners for the third leg of the competition and overall standing were Frankie Chin, who had two exceptional clear rounds on Jiggy with a total of 48 points to place first, Justin Vaz on Cassanova, with four faults and 44 points to place second, and Trina deLisser on Ottis, with two brilliant clear rounds with 21 points in third place for the final overall standing.

Medium League

The Medium League had Jordon Williams on her mount Phoenix, who sailed clear for her two rounds of the final to finish as the overall winner with 40 points. Trina deLisser with eight faults on Ashes was second with 39 points, and Lackief Leslie, with four faults for the third leg, placing third overall with 37 points.

The Low League had Alex Chin on Hannah with two wonderful clear rounds in first place with an overall score of 46 points. Victoria Jones on Stormy, with four faults to finish with 43 points, and Claire Schwapp on Goofy, with four faults and 42 points to place third.

The jumping season will resume with the Caribbean Equestrian Association final leg of the jumping competition, which will take place November 5 and 6 at the Kingston Polo Club and Equestrian Centre.
