Some of the most engaging and prolific gospel ministers are set to grace the stage tonight at the Denbigh Agricultural Showgrounds as part of this year's Denbigh festivities.

The concert, dubbed 'Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza', will feature Carlene Davis, Kevin Downswell, Omari, Goddy Goddy, Dr Norris Weir, Jabez, Septimus, Kereen Gregory, On The Shout Band and the Melodies.

The Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza has become one of the primary elements of the celebrated three-day agricultural festival, and as such, organizer of the concert and head of Glory Music, Tommy Cowan, says persons can come out and expect a night of ministry and family entertainment.

Time to celebrate

"The concert will be a time to celebrate not only our Jamaican heritage, but also our rich gospel-music culture, and we will have some of the island's best gospel-music ministers at the concert. So we are encouraging everyone to come on out and enjoy the night's proceedings. Jamaica Broilers, which is known for its involvement in our other concert, Fun In The Son, is also one of this concert's main sponsors, and we have to thank them for their keen interest and involvement in family-oriented entertainment," he said.

Carlene Davis, one of the night's featured gospel ministers said, "We believe it will be a refreshing time. As a nation, we are at a place where we are all searching and seeking a better way forward for our families, our neighbours, community, our leaders and the nation on a whole."

She continued: "Denbigh is an opportunity to seek God as a people in unity. We will praise and thank God for keeping us through the good and the hard times. We must understand that His mighty hand is upon Jamaica, and to know that God knows the plans He has for us are good and that His plans for us gives us hope and a bright future and His love for us will never change."
