Jamaica struggle at CAGC

Jamaica's Hoerman Cup team is still in fifth spot at the end of yesterday's day three in the 55th renewal of the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships.

Going into the final day, Puerto Rico are still in front on 881, thirteen strokes ahead of Trinidad & Tobago.

Matthew Smith shot one over par 72, Fabian Campbell 73, Wesley Brown 75 and Jonathan Newnham shot 80 to contribute to the day's round.

The Ramon Baez team of Sean Morris and Keith Stein is also still in seventh place with a combined score of 70. The Dominican Republic and Trinidad & Tobago teams hold first and second place, respectively.

Far behind the leaders

Robert Chin and Greg Chong are in sixth spot in the Francis & Steele-Perkins Trophy for senior men. The Jamaican duo are 19 over par well behind leaders Trinidad and Tobago on eight under par. Barbados are in second on three over while the Cayman Islands are third on seven over.

Dennis Atkinson and Fred Sutherland are a creditable second in the Higgs and Higgs Trophy for super seniors. Puerto Rico lead with five over with Jamaica next on 10 over par. The Bahamas are third on 12 over.

The ladies team of Jodi Barrow, Leiza Blakeley and Michelle Gabay remain in sixth position. The Trinidadian ladies are in the lead on 441, followed by Puerto Rico on 444.
