CHILE - Students march for education reform

SANTIAGO (AP):
Students in Chile are marching by the tens of thousands to keep pressure on the government for profound changes in public education.
Student leader Camila Vallejos estimates more than 100,000 people are marching in the capital and many more in other cities across Chile. Police estimate just 60,000 have joined yesterday's march in Santiago.
Protest leaders have rejected President Sebastián Piñera's 21-point reform plan for schools and universities, and demand a fresh proposal by today. Education minister Felipe Bulnes says the government will introduce its package as-is to Congress instead.
It's very difficult for any changes to become law in Chile without compromise, but so far neither side is bending.
