Something extra
It was fun out west at the Reggae Wine Festival in Montego Bay, and LIME 'flipped' Half-Way Tree with their laptop launch.
Where's the protocol?
1. People are still talking about the official who attended a certain event flashing the Jamaica Labour Party sign. They say it seems he never got the protocol memo!
Where's the rent?
2. Some are warning others to be careful just to whom they rent their property. One diplomat who rented an upscale neighbourhood home and has been boasting about the fab new place, has not been meeting his monthly obligations, refusing to pay the rent! And as the landlord remains out of pocket, the said tenant goes around boasting about how much he is doing for the nation!
Where's the water?
3. While the calls for the breaking up of the Jamaica Public Service Company's monopoly is growing and gathering momentum, others are calling for the same approach to the National Water Commission, considering that there are areas of the country still without water, and there are communities that go without water for days and weeks on end!
Prancing men ... and!
4. Quote of the Week: "Gay men prancing in New Kingston at night or day does not bother me. It's the straight-acting married ones, who do!"
What's up here?
5. Guests are complaining, and loudly too, about the decline of the once-formidable Kingston landmark. They say it's not unusual to see cans catching water in the lobby during downpours. And they say during a recent high-profile event many were heard complaining of the "frowsy" carpet!
Is it timing?
6. The players say all the ingredients are now in place for the political putsch. Now it's a matter of timing!
