NOTE-WORTHY
Catch criminals here
I find it very interesting that over the past three decades, the United States government has been pursuing all the major investigations on Jamaican drug lords and gunrunners.
Their crimes only come to light when an extradition request is given to the Jamaican Government, but before that they were all respected upper St Andrew businessmen. How can it be that we don't investigate criminals whose crimes are so large that they warrant investigation by a foreign government? Does the JCF even have a file on Mr Coke or numerous others, such as Mr Ramcharan and Mr Williams?
We need to start investigating and prosecuting our own criminals and stop sheltering and supporting them.

Desensitised j'cans
To start, the term 'Jamaican justice' is an oxymoron. The only reason I can think of why Coke would not be prosecuted for his crimes in Jamaica is if the Americans have a higher standard of justice and a greater respect for the rule of law than Jamaicans.
We keep looking the other way when minor laws are broken and, soon, we become so desensitised that we resign to lawlessness and, soon, we are where we are now as a nation. We don't know right from wrong. What a shame! God help us.

No-so-mutual pact?
Well, it seems outright abusive to me to prosecute him twice on the same set of allegations. Jamaica had the choice to prosecute Coke, and did not.
If there is a mutual-assistance agreement in place, how come the Jamaican Government handed over all its evidence to the US, but the US is yet to hand over anything? How mutual is that? Something and someone made a mockery of us, but it is not Dudus. Blame the real mockers.

We can charge dudus
The US prosecuted Dudus for trafficking in drugs and guns. Jamaica could charge him with resisting arrest, inciting riot, murder and a host of other crimes committed locally that were not prosecuted in the US.

Gov't mocking people
Coke makes a mockery of the Jamaican justice system, and the Jamaican Government's handling of the situation makes mockery of the intelligence of the Jamaican people.
It is business as usual. How sad. We are in deep waters. Are we gonna cross it?
