'Ghett-A Life' stars head to the theatre
- If Walls Could Talk opens in October
In recent times, five-time Actor Boy award-winning David Tulloch has been making his contributions to theatre off-stage.
His latest offering is Probemaster Entertainment's new dramatic comedy, If Walls Could Talk.
The play opens at the Pantry Playhouse on October 14 and will run until November 27.
If Walls Could Talk, written and directed by Tulloch, boasts a star-studded cast with the likes of Winston 'Bello' Bell, Denise Hunt, Christopher McFarlane, Rosie Murray, Marsha-Ann Hay and Christopher Taylor.
The chemistry with this blend of talent is highly anticipated. Bell was one of the stars in the local hit movie, Ghett'A Life, and was recently seen on stage playing to raving houses in Angie Binns's Stop Dat Train, also directed by Tulloch.
Actor Boy award-winning actor, Christopher McFarlane, also starred as the lead villain in Ghett'A Life and was recently seen in Dahlia Harris's well-respected drama, Judgement.
TV sensation Denise Hunt has recently opened her gym, Sizzle-Fit, and made her last appearance onstage in 2010, prior to which she had been absent from the stage for some time. Last year, she played the lead role of Angie Binns's Second Chance, again directed by Tulloch.
After bringing back the likes of Bell, Hunt, Barbara McCalla and Zandriann Maye, Tulloch now includes in this talented roster veteran actress Rosie Murray. Murray has not been seen onstage for some time now but her comic timing and 'ultra-clear' delivery makes her return eagerly anticipated.
The talented and multi-faceted Marsha-Ann Hay, 'Marshay', who has been doing a host of productions, both for film and stage, is currently filming to appear in season four of local television's soap, The Blackburns.
Christopher Taylor has also appeared in numerous productions onstage as an actor and also offstage as a stage manager. His last appearance was Karl Hart's, Backstage.
If Walls Could Talk is a dramatic comedy that takes the audience into the lives and marriage of The Baileys. Melvin and Jennifer Bailey are owners of a struggling hardware store and married for 11 years. They have tried many times to have children but to no avail. This is primarily because Jennifer suffers from a terminal condition known as uterine incompetence. What this does is to allow Jennifer to conceive but eventually she will have a miscarriage. Driven by guilt and her profound love for her husband who she believes is 'perfect', and who she failed at providing a family for, she decided to ask their loyal helper, Cindy to carry the child for her. This way she keeps it in-house and without many people knowing. She grants her husband the permission to impregnate the helper based on the fact that she thought he was the perfect husband.
Lucky for him, walls do not talk, or do they? So in a highly dramatic, hilarious comedy, and without giving too much away, the story unfolds.
