With their sights set on the chequered flag, Jamaica's contingent for the Pan American Rotax Max Challenge Finals will depart tomorrow for the New Castle Motorsports Park, a premier facility which is located just outside Indianapolis, Indiana.
Among the participants are William Myers, Collin Daley Jr, Matthew Williams and Thomas Issa, who will all be competing in the Rotax Junior Class.
Justin Sirgany, 10, has been confirmed for the Rotax Micro Max Class, while his older and more experienced cousin, Joshua Sirgany, will contest the Rotax Mini Max Class."Based on their performance since the start of this year, I will not be surprised if all of them get a podium finish," said Errol Anderson, former chairman of the Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC).
He stressed that once the mechanical team prepares the karts right, then the chances of the youngsters will depend on how well they handle themselves on the track."The boys have demonstrated that they have the ability," said Anderson.
The championship has been described as the 'Olympics' of go-karting and Jamaica's best chance of securing a victory rests on the shoulders of Justin Sirgany, who is rated among the top five Micro Max drivers in the Caribbean and the Americas.
