She is the beautiful former Immaculate High School student who beat the entire Caribbean in CXC history and English. And, at present, Kerri-Ann Mew is a third-year law student at the University of the West Indies. All things being equal, she will be an attorney just before her 24th birthday.

To mark her coming-of-age milestone, a birthday party was held at Goodwill Avenue in Arlene Gardens recently. Her mother, Dawn Mew, who is a caterer, laid out a spread befitting the occasion. It included avocado salad, tomato salad, jerked chicken and pork and the customary birthday cake.

Father Gary Mew, a master at the controls, did the musical honours and lots of relatives, as well as close friends from prep school through the high school years, were in attendance.

In their toasts, her Kerri-Ann's friends spoke of her loyalty to family and friends and hinted that she would be a most worthy contestant for Miss Jamaica World 2012.
