Sarah Ferguson is moving permanently to LA

The ex-wife of Britain's Prince Andrew has told friends she is sick of how she is portrayed in Britain and is hoping for a fresh start in America, where she believes she isn't judged for her past transgressions, including her attempt to sell access to her former spouse for cash.

A source told BANG Showbiz: "Sarah is moving to Los Angeles in the middle of next month, she's still finalising everything but expects to be here by the 16 or 17 of October.

"Her profile is much bigger in the US than it is in Britain, especially after making a reality TV show with Oprah Winfrey, and Sarah feels people are kinder to her and accept her for who she is in the US much more easily than they do in the UK."

Sarah is still close to her former husband, with whom she has two children, Princesses Beatrice, 23, and Eugenie, 21, and lives with him at his official residence, Royal Lodge, in Windsor Great Park.

The duchess first considered moving away from Britain permanently last year after it was revealed she was filmed accepting a bribe in return for access to Andrew.

Her friend Rob Shuter said at the time: "I think she'd love to stay in America and start afresh.

"She knows she's made a terrible mistake, and she knows she'll have to carry this with her for the rest of her life. She is terribly sorry."

Britney Spears hosts exclusive party in London recently

The Criminal singer turned up at the Sanctum Soho Hotel with boyfriend Jason Trawick looking stunning in a green-and-black bodycon dress to celebrate the start of the European leg of her 'Femme Fatale' tour.

The series of concerts start in St Petersburg, Russia, on September 22 and end in Lisbon, Portugal on November 9 and will see Britney returning to London for dates at the city's The O2 venue in October.

Britney, 29, arrived in the British capital earlier this week and said it is a city that is always close to her heart.

She tweeted: "So excited to stop over in the UK before I start my European tour in a few weeks. Can't wait! I LOVE London, it's like my second home."

She will also shoot her new video for Criminal in the UK capital, adding: "Decided to shoot the Criminal video in the streets of merry old England when I get there."
