Beyoncé chooses Saint for London Fashion Week
Pop diva Beyoncé brought some electrifying glamour to London Fashion Week when she presented her House of Dereon Spring Summer 2012 collection at Selfridges during London Fashion Week. Saint International models Sam Taylor and Tsheca White represented well for Jamaica in the model line-up for Beyoncé. The show was held at the legendary Selfridges store in London and had a glitzy front row that put paparazzi in overdrive.
Working alongside her mother, Tina Knowles, the collection seemed inspired by the Afrocentric theme of her blockbuster video Run The World (Girls).
Models had lines of paint running from forehead to chest. Regal African headdresses were also consistent throughout.
While there were long dresses and miniskirts, body-con pieces were the order of the day.
House of dereon
The House of Dereon is a proud family collaboration between Beyoncé and her mother - the name Dereon coming from Beyoncé's grandmother. Interestingly, the collection has never been presented in New York for Fashion Week. London's eccentric and dynamic feel has been drawing top American names such as Tom Ford to the UK.
Saint models were all over the catwalks of some of London's most prestigious designers, from Felder Felder to Jasper Conran, Danielle Scutt to Osman Yousefzda.
It's not the first time that Beyoncé has used Saint models in her collection presentation. A few years ago, she selected Saint star Jotasha Turbull as her muse for a series of featured high-profile presentations on the Oprah Winfrey and Jimmy Kimmel shows.
