By now, many would be familiar with 'College Lifestyle', the television programme which explores student culture at the tertiary level. However, aside from putting the lives of college students and celebrities on screen, College Lifestyle also hosts one of the hottest parties on the entertainment calendar, College Lifestyle Melt Down.

Going into its third staging, the party is expected to again deliver an over-the-top experience. An optimistic College Lifestyle events coordinator, Simone Oliphant, said that Melt Down is an exclusive college party, far from the average event.

"Melt Down started as an after exam college party, but we moved from that to exclusivity, So right now we are geared at delivering to young adults an exclusive beach party, not just a typical party," Oliphant said. The party normally utilises innovative ideas such as yachts and fresh locations as part of its pulling power, and is going to be no different this time around.

College Lifestyle Melt Down will be staged on Heroes Day, Monday, October 17, at Marley Beach, Boscobel, St Mary, a few minutes from Ocho Rios. The musical melting will be facilitated by DJ Narity, DJ Spinn, Code Red and Chromatic.

The intention of the College Lifestyle team is to take partygoers on an entertaining voyage to Boscobel, St Mary, where they will be melted with fine food, beach activities, yacht and jet ski trips, as well as drinks at reasonable prices. To be a part of this exclusive college party costs $1000 for general admission and $2,000 for VIP.

College-friendly price

According to Oliphant, the price is college friendly. "The admission and prices of drinks are in line with the budget of college students, and there will be specials on drinks on the day of the event as well," she said. She also listed the benefits of the VIP armband, which she said enables "special service". "VIP will enjoy private service. Persons will be assigned to fetch food and drinks for the persons in that area. The VIP will also have access to a full-body massage in a cabana built in the VIP area, all this plus private parking," she said.

College Lifestyle will also provide luxury shuttle service for patrons who don't wish to drive to St Mary. This costs $1,000 and the bus leaves the UWI Students Union at 10 a.m. Tickets for the event are available at Salon Splurt at UWI Students' Union, UTech Students' Union and Ocho Rios Pet Com.

"Turn out on the 17th, because College Melt Down is by far the most anticipated party on the calendar for persons looking for a different experience from the norm," Oliphant concluded.
