Despite racing for the first time in six months, ISNT SHE SOMETHIN should return on a winning note in the Flossie McNeil Memorial Cup feature over 1200 metres at Caymanas Park today.

The race, which is confined to native-bred three-year-old-and-up fillies and mares, has attracted 12 starters from the non-winners of two groups. ISNT SHE SOMETHIN, who was fourth to NIPHAL in the 1000 Guineas when last raced on April 2, obviously has a bit more class than her rivals.

Trained by 14-time champion Philip Feanny, who saddled two winners on Wednesday, the 3-y-o grey filly by Traditional out of the 1990 Oaks winner, Millford Sound, has raced only twice this season, but was put down after the Guineas and reprogrammed for this race (working well).

worthwhile opposition

She reports with the visor refitted and the cheek pieces removed for this race and should have little difficulty in scoring her second win, with in-form Aaron Chatrie aboard.

She can expect worthwhile opposition from the likes of WAGON WHEELS, DELICIOSA, and the lightly raced but improving DALLA FIFTY, with WAGON WHEELS (Dane Nelson up) looking best equipped to complete the Exacta.

Elsewhere on the programme, SWEET TRAIL, who was fourth in the Oaks, should supplement her recent win when she returns in the 3-y-o restricted stakes over 1200 metres.

The chestnut filly from the stables of Patrick Chang won easily over 1100 metres in a fairly good time on September 17 in non-winners of two, and although facing stiffer competition, has worked well in preparation for the race.

SWEET TRAIL looks conveniently placed in the scales (53.0kg), and with Cardenas again at the helm, should win from TRADITIONAL PRINCE, THE MESSENGER, and LUSCIOUS in a field of 12. She has good speed and will be in the front ranks throughout.

JJ'S GIRL, another three-year-old filly, is tipped to open her account in the 3-y-o maiden condition race over 1600 metres, following her strong second to MR. ALLIANCE over 1820 metres on September 17 - a race in which she had FIRST OF ALL (who renews rivalry) a length behind in third.

JJ'S GIRL, who was apprentice-ridden in that race, should benefit from the stronger handling of title-chasing jockey Shane Ellis and confirm her superiority over FIRST OF ALL.

I also like PERFECT LADY to win the second race, PRINCE OF ARABIA to catch the fleet-footed APPELLANT in the fifth over 1100 metres, HE'S A DREAMER in the sixth, and MOLTEN KING ahead of PRINCESS DECIE in the closing Alex's Imports Dig Out Handicap.
