Chief justice gets shot

ISLAMABAD (AP):

Police say a gunman wounded the chief justice of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir's high court as he was walking through a park.

Police officer Riaz Abbasi says yesterday's attack on Ghulam Mustafa Mughal occurred in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir's capital, Muzaffarabad.

Abbasi said the judge was transported to a military hospital and was in stable condition. Authorities are searching for the gunman.

Kashmir is divided between areas controlled by Pakistan and India. Both countries claim all of Kashmir and have fought two wars over the territory.
