CGM Gallagher celebrates 40
Carl Gilchrist, Gleaner Writer
CGM Gallagher insurance brokers celebrated its 40th anniversary in style on Friday, October 21, by sponsoring Ochi Corporate Mixer's bimonthly networking at Margaritaville Ocho Rios.
The event, which saw several of CGM's partners represented, hosted arguably the largest turnout of business persons at Ochi Corporate since it started over a year ago.
Incidentally, it was also the birthday celebrations for Sheraley Bridgeman, former manager of CGM's western operations, who was recently promoted to vice-president, business development.
Of course, she had to celebrate her birthday separate from CGM's and left Ocho Rios and headed to Pier 1 in the Bay where family, friends and co-workers no doubt were waiting to celebrate with her.
In a release prior to Friday by the company, Bridgeman said CGM saw the sponsorship of the Ochi Corporate Mixer as "a unique opportunity to build awareness for the Ocho Rios branch, situated at Point Plaza".
The night was a pleasant affair and saw the introduction of flautist, Wind of Melody. The highlight was the cutting of the 40th anniversary cake by a host of CGM representatives.
CGM were joined as sponsors by Margaritaville, home of the event since its inception, as well as Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort, Diageo, Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, and the Chef Association of Jamaica.
The Ochi Corporate Mixers (the brainchild of Sunset Jamaica Grande's general manager, Clifton Reader) has been attracting young professionals who have been using the opportunity as an avenue to network and liaise with other business professionals and entrepreneurs seeking to promote and expand their business.
The evening would have spelt success, once again, for Denneisha Blair of National Commercial Bank St Ann's Bay, who has been the driving force behind the staging of Ochi Corporate Mixer almost from day one.
The next Ochi Corporate Mixer will be the Christmas edition, set for December.
