Shady Squad moves into party waters

Shady Squad is well known as an outstanding dancing outfit. Now they have decided to make a move into fresh waters - literally, with the staging of their water party, Water Splash Wet Wet 1st edition.

The party, set for next Saturday from 4 p.m. to midnight, is a joint effort between promoters Carlton Taylor and Odaine Dawson. Taylor, who spoke on behalf of Shady Squad, is confident that Water Splash is going to make a splash. "We are putting a lot of work, pressure and dedication into promotions and the results will be good. Di party a go big," he said.

According to Taylor, the venue - Constant Spring Golf Club - is perfect for a water party. "The venue is perfect in size for Wet Wet. Patrons will love the environment, and they are free to dance all over it," he said, laughing. Taylor said that unlike some water parties, Wet Wet will not run out of liquid and there will be fun from start to finish.

"Water will be there in abundance. Yu hear whe it name? Wet Wet. So you are not going to find the water running out. The goal is to keep the vibe going from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m ," he promised.

There will be prizes to be won leading up to the event, the promotions running on radio.

Taylor said there will be a mixed liquor special for patrons all night. "All other hard alcohol of any kind will be sold, but the mixed liquor is free," he said.

Dawson confirmed the mixed liquor deal, adding that there will be Martini mixes by professional mix masters. "Wet Wet kinda have an exotic flavour to it and at the same time is an high energy water party," he said.

Security will be provided by the police and a security firm.

DJs for Wet Wet are DJ Flabba Dabba, DJ Nicco of FAME FM, Foota Hype, ZJ Bruce Lee and DJ Chunky. Ladies are encouraged to wear swimwear or short shorts and are advised to be prepared to get wet. They will get in free from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and benefit from a 2-4-1 deal the entire night.

"This party is different because we won't run out of water and it will be non-stop vibe and energy. Yu know how Shady Squad stay already, suh imagine all that energy into a party," Taylor said.
