The ladies' block, Excellencia of Taylor Hall, University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, is gearing up to host this year's staging of their two-year-old annual event, Blush. This year is 'The Play House Edition', and the ladies have promised a night of sensual elegance.
Blush, The Play House Edition, is on tomorrow, and all proceeds are geared to charity and block development.
Honica Brown, cultural and entertainment chairperson for Excellencia, said this staging of the party is a new concept and embodies the meaning of feminine beauty.
"The party has been called Blush for the past two years and we just wanted something that represents women, and the feeling that we give to people and the reaction to elegance," said Brown.
"At Blush, we present a sense of intimacy. It's like one big, happy family having fun, or like a paradise for couples or potential couples. The possibilities are endless," she added.
Brown said the event will be staged in Taylor Hall's Multipurpose Room which will be fully decorated to give patrons a warm, welcoming experience.
"The concept that we are working with is The Play House Edition, a boy meets girl scenario. We have a VIP lounge. It's cozy and it's a comfort zone. Even though you are at a party, you will be comfortable," she said.
Brown also promised a treat for patrons, courtesy of the ladies of Excellencia, one that she called sweet - literally. "Special ladies will be dressed as bunnies and patrons will get a chance to meet them. In addition, sections of the Play House will be lined with candy to add to that sweet pleasure experience," she said.
The event will be Rum Fire and Jello Shots inclusive and there will also be prizes, courtesy of sponsors Red Bull and Rum Fire.
DJs who will grace the wheels of steel for the night are Code Red, DJ Granty and DJ Spinn.
Admission is $200 presold and $250 for males at the gate. Females will benefit from a two-for-one deal at $200 for the entire night.
Security will be provided by campus police and security. Soup and water will be on sale for detox.
Taylor Hall's cultural and entertainment affairs chairperson, Miguel Reid, said the event is definitely one to look forward to.
"It's drawing close to the closure of the semester and this event is just the right way to calm the nerves before taking on final exams, so I would encourage all to indulge," he said.
"People should come to Blush because it is the most pleasurable experience for the semester. People are going to be talking about it and, trust me, you do not want to miss the playmates," Brown said.
