British culture takes the world
British culture has been rather impactful on the world in the realm of music, sports, business, and nightlife. The British have been credited with being the innovators of some of the customs, dress, sounds, and beats that are quite popular today.
Today, many of those same practices are still being heavily influenced by the British. British style icons like Carey Mulligan, Harpers Bazaar's best-dressed woman of 2010, supermodel Kate Moss, Actress Andrea Riseborough, designer Stella McCartney, and Victoria Beckham have all made their stamp on the fashion industry and created waves in the world of style.
British fashion has always been acclaimed for its 'fearlessness', and Brits are famed for their individual sense of style, which mixes prints, patterns, florals, and leather and differing styles one with the other. Most recently, Kate Middleton, the duchess of Cambridge, has been revered as an amazing ambassador for British designers who have created an incredible style evolution. By far one of the most thrilling moments for fashion this year would have to be the royal wedding and the unveiling of that wedding dress.
British style still has an element of punk left in it and this is being preserved each day by Brits. If you are ever in England and want a quick fit, the most popular stores would include the ultra-famous Topshop, Miss Selfridge, River Island, New Look, All Saints, and Primark.
Another major part of British culture is nightlife.
One of the world's largest travel websites, TripAdvisor, revealed Britain's best nightlife destinations, according to the travellers themselves.
Liverpool outclassed runner-up Manchester to be crowned Britain's best nightlife destination. London took third place, followed by Glasgow and Brighton.
In Jamaica, thanks to Smirnoff, locals will get to sample some of this nightlife and be able to show off their own British fashions at the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange project event tonight.
Party experience
On this night, 50 countries across the world will swap nightlife and host an amazing and original party experience for consumers. Jamaica will swap with Britain, and some of the very elements that Britain is so well known for will be included in the mix.
According to Safia Cooper, brand manager, Smirnoff, "As always, we want to be innovative with our concept and party execution.
"We are going to give our consumers a completely British event boasting all the features of true British nightlife. Smirnoff is a mega brand and as such will always do things that much better and bigger. We invite all our consumers to come out and partake in what is expected to be the best event of the year."
