Public Service minister, Senator Arthur Williams, has named a new board for the state-owned Caymanas Track Limited (CTL), sole promoters of horse racing in Jamaica.

Deputy chairman Raphael Gordon, a prominent racehorse owner, was appointed chairman of the seven-member board, which includes four previous directors.

In addition to Gordon, the others are Danville Walker, Shirley Gayle-Sinclair and Camile Buchanan, who was also the acting CEO of the company.

Buchanan resigned from that post on Thursday, November 10, in order to run as the JLP candidate for the newly created constituency of East Central St Catherine in the upcoming general election. She is the sitting councillor for the Gregory Park division in the St Catherine Parish Council and Portmore Municipality.

The new members of the board are Paul Matalon, Alexander Johnson, JP, and Kenry Jackson, JP, replacing Ian Parsard, Howard McKenzie and the former chairman, Tony Hart, who resigned early this year.

The life of the new board is for three years, but is subject to change, depending on the outcome of the election.
