Reggae Boyz trainer on course in Brazil
National physical trainer, André Waugh, left the island yesterday for Brazil where he will participate in an international coaching course.
The course started yesterday and runs through to Friday, November 25 in the South American country.
The course is aimed at professional football managers and aims at updating their coaching skills. It will encompass lectures and practical fieldwork.
Some top Brazilian coaches like Carlos Alberto Parreira and Zico have participated as lecturers in the past.
The course is being held in partnership with the Union of Professional Coaches of Sao Paulo and the Football Federation of Sao Paulo.
Covering the cost
The Brazilian government is covering the costs of Waugh's airfare, accommodation, meals and per diem.
Horace Reid, general secretary of the Jamaica Football Federation, who selected Waugh to attend the seminar, was quoted as saying in a release, "this is a great opportunity to continue the programme of expansion of knowledge in coach education and development."
