Tomorrow's Supreme Ventures Pick-3 Super Challenge raceday at Caymanas Park offers no carryovers in the Pick-9 or Super-6, but things could be different this week owing to the competitive nature of the 11-race programme.

The Pick-9 will embrace races three to 11, the first Super-6 from race two to seven, the overlapping Super-6 from six to 10.

We look at the second Super-6 which gets under way with the Pick-3 'Straight Trophy', which should see the fleet-footed straight-five specialist SUPER DAVE (Andre Martin up) getting the better of NEW KINGSTON, TRIPLE ACCOUNT and DA BOOM in a field of 13.

The six-year-old horse from the in-form stables of Patrick Lynch slammed SARAGOSSA and company over the course back in May, and although having only one race since when finishing sixth to DOUBLE THE HONEY over the course in open allowance company on September 28, will prove hard to deny, now back among his peers.

Next on the programme is the Pick-3 'Easy to Win' Bonanza Trophy race over 1820 metres (claiming $450,000-$400,000) to be contested by 11 starters, including top contenders GLOBAL WARMING and AWESOME MARQUE, both dropped in class and ideally suited to the distance.

Preference

The Carl Anderson-trained AWESOME MARQUE finished second to REGAL SENSATION over this trip in high-claiming company on October 5, and subsequently won over 1300 metres 24 days later. Although he'll have his share of supporters, preference is for the Kingsley Davis-trained GLOBAL WARMING, who notched his last win over his trip in overnight allowance company on July 2, beating EXCELLENCE and BELOW THE WAIST.

Better for the two recent pipeopeners in allowance company, the more recent behind HARLAN'S DANCER over 1500 metres on November 12, GLOBAL WARMING (Aaron Chatrie up) will not be easily denied, now dropped three classes.

The well-forward two-year-old debutante MY FRIEND LUCY, from the stables of champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, has looked so sharp at exercise that she should win the eighth race over 1100 metres in decisive fashion.

A bay filly by He'stherealthing out of Executive Profile, which makes her a half sister to the 2009 'Horse of the Year' AHWHOFAH, MY FRIEND LUCY (Shane Ellis up) galloped five furlongs from the gate in 59.4, the first four in 46.1, and should not be beaten.

Her principal danger in the 14-strong field must surely be the Howard Jaghai-trained PRINCESS GEETA, who fetched the then record price of $3 million in the 2010 TOBA yearling sale at Caymanas Park. By Royal Minister out of Miss Chestnut, this half sister to reigning 'Horse of the Year' MARK MY WORD has pleased in her preparation as well, and could ensure that MY FRIEND LUCY is extended.

ANDY CAPP, now trekking down to $180,000 claiming, is preferred to bold front-runner SULAMANI and THE REAL STREAM in the ninth race over 1300 metres. The three-year-old gelding has been kept on the move at exercise since that fair fifth to FLAGAMAN over the straight on October 26, and should wear down SULAMANI where it matters.

Race number 10, the $3.6 million Supreme Ventures Pick-3 Challenge Trophy over 1400 metres for native-bred two-year-olds, brings together the first five past the post in race one of the series, the Cash Pot 'Only one For Me Trophy' over 1200 metres on October 15, including the winner LADYLIKE and runner-up AWESOME CAMILLE.

Both should figure prominently over the longer distance, but preference is for the Anthony Nunes-trained EL PATRON, who was four lengths fourth as the favourite to LADYLIKE in muddy conditions. Having moved impressively at exercise and better drawn on the outside in a field of 13, EL PATRON should turn the tables on Dwight Chen's LADYLIKE.

Close all bets on Ellis' mount NATURALFANTASY (knocking at the door) in the nightpan, where FIRST OF ALL and LEAN HEAD are twin dangers in a field of 16.
