Mister C, with a total of 29 points, won the $10,000 prize for having topped the first three rounds of the new-look Pattex Cup skittles competition last Sunday, when they crushed defending champions Mystix 12-1 at Olympic Gardens.

Spanish Town-based Mister C are unbeaten in three matches. However, under the new scoring system where two points are allocated for each of the four doubles matches (including a mixed doubles), as against one each for the five singles matches, Mister C have topped the standings.

In other matches played last Sunday, Olympic Strikers beat Dragon 9-4 at Olympic, while pre-season favourites Eagles defeated Willies Strikers 8-5 at Mercury to make it three straight.

In the second match at Mercury, Rowe's Strikers defeated the home team 11-2.

In the third set of matches played at Eastern All-Stars Skittles Club, Windward Road, last Sunday, the recent Dip Invitational champions Starliner clipped Eastern 7-6 in a hard-fought contest.

Under the new format, each of the 11 teams will play the other three times in the preliminary round - home, away and at a neutral venue.

The competition moves into its fourth round tomorrow with the following matches:

At Eagles, Hughenden Plaza, Eagles will oppose Rowe's Strikers starting at 1 pm, while Willies' Strikers take on Mercury in the second match at 4 p.m.

At Dragon, Giltress Street in Rollington Town, Dragon are up against Mystix and Mister C vs Olympic Strikers. And at Starliner, Waltham Park Road, home team Starliner will take on Waltham Strikers at 1 p.m.

Scotia are Inter-Bank football champions

Defending champions Scotiabank Group retained the JNBS/Western Sports Norman Goodison Inter-Bank football trophy last Sunday following a 4-0 win over NCB in the final at the NWC playing field, Mona.

Scotia were winning the competition for the fourth consecutive year, having retired the original trophy last season.

Although having won impressively in the end, Scotia were forced to struggle in the first half which ended goalless. Indeed, they were lucky not to have fallen behind during this period, as NCB missed three clear chances to go ahead. They paid dearly for this in the second half.

After the interval, Scotia got their act together and opened the scoring in the 51st minute when midfielder Stefan Bartley scored from a Donovan Hibbert (captain) cross.

Bartley followed up two minutes later with a brilliant goal this time. In a scorching solo run, he beat five of his opponents before crashing the ball past Andre Cunningham in goal.

Akeem Themstead and Akeeli Martin completed the scoring for Scotiabank with goals in the 62nd and 78th minutes, respectively. Martin's goal enabled him to pass teammate Richard West as the competition's leading scorer with nine goals. The Scotia team is coached by Calvert Fitzgerald and managed by Diana Polack.

The Inter-Bank awards presentation will take place on the night of Wednesday, December 7 at the Scotiabank Sports Club, Liguanea.

National bodybuilding championships tonight

The Jamaica Association of Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (JABBFA) senior championships take place tonight at the Girl Guides Headquarters, Waterloo Road, at 7:00.

At least 20 of the island's top bodybuilders will be vying for top honours, securing places on the national team to the Caribbean Championships in Puerto Rico in 2012 as well.

The competition will see senior bodybuilders returning to the stage to defend or retain their titles. Orlando Roper and Rupert Johnson, multiple winners of the Mr Jamaica titles, will give their less-experienced opponents quite a challenge for the overall title.

Judy Allen, multiple winner of the Miss Jamaica Bodybuilding title, will also be returning, after a long break, to compete. The winners from the Junior Caribbean Championships in July - Passionique Weller, Delmar Graham, Mario Gonzalez and Daniel Chisolm - will also excite fans with the improvement they have shown since their last show.

Mystix pool tourney today

The Mystix eight-ball open pool tournament takes place today at Mystix Sports Bar, 78³/⁴ Hagley Park Road, starting at 6 p.m.

At stake is a first prize of $30,000 and trophy and a second prize of $8,000. The tournament is confined to A, B and C class players with the lower-ranked players receiving a handicap from the A class players.

Meanwhile, Grace Letts clipped in-form Francine Cardoza 3-2 to win the fourth weekly ladies' pool tournament held at Hot Shots, 103 Constant Spring Road, on Wednesdays

Cardoza, who won on the previous Wednesday, ensured a close contest, but Letts was not to be denied, securing the cash prize and trophy.

Confed Super League kick-off

The 2011-12 season of the South Central Confed Super League football kicks off today. Twelve teams from the parishes of St Catherine, Clarendon, Manchester and St Elizabeth will take part.

Seven teams are from St Catherine, two each from Clarendon and Manchester, and one from St Elizabeth. The new entrants are Royal Lakes (St Catherine), Spartan (Clarendon), New Green (Manchester) and Super Action (St Elizabeth).

There will be prize money for the top teams. South Central Confed chairman Dale Spencer announced a $50,000 sponsorship for the competition at the start of the week. Last year's winner, Rivoli, and parishmates Meadows are expected to lead the charge for championship honours.

Matches on today: De la Vega vs Rivoli, Newland vs Super Action, and Royal Lakes vs New Green at Lime Tree Oval.

Tomorrow: Bodles vs Monymusk, Downs vs Meadows, and Spartan vs Naggo Head.

Top Hill - the toast of Jamalco awards

Winners Top Hill were the toast of the Jamalco Football League awards ceremony held at that company's sports club in Clarendon.

Top Hill, who defeated Napoli in an exciting final 4-3 on October 8, walked away with first prize $150,000. They also won sectional awards for most attacking team (20 goals), most defensive team (conceded just four goals). In addition, among their ranks, Clayton 'Cobi' Thompson (top goalscorer) and Romaine Wilson (MVP of finals) won individual cash incentives. Despite not being a major factor in the second round, Hunts Pen featured prominently on the programme, snatching the biggest sectional awards, capturing the Jerome Maxwell trophy for the most disciplined team, and the Blossom Laidlaw trophy for the best dressed team, pocketing $10,000 for each.

Second-place Napoli received $100,000, displaced champions New Bowens got $50,000 for third place, and Port, who also won a sectional award for being the most improved team, won $25,000 for placing fourth.

Manchester KO semi-finals

The Bruamalia House/Locker Room-sponsored Manchester KO is at the semi-final stage, but matches originally scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed due to the involvement of defending champions Downs and New Green in the opening matches of the new South Central Confed Super League season.

On Wednesday, New Green take on Kendal, while on December 1, Downs will host Comfort.

In matches played this week Downs, who began with a penalty shoot-out win over Porus, defeated Allied 2-1. Comfort got the better of Old England 1-0.

Kendal are yet to concede a goal after outclassing Young Diamonds 3-0 in the opening round before ousting the 2009 champions Georges Valley 2-0. New Green scored the biggest win of the competition with a 6-0 win over Star Liner, but were forced to use the penalty route in beating Hope Village 4-1.

Jamalco, Coffals, Rock River advance

Markland Wright's 87th strike completed a come-from-behind 2-1 win for Jamalco on Thursday to oust Milk River from the Clarendon Claro KO competition.

Jamalco had narrowly defeated Milk River in their first encounter but Jamie Fothergill quickly cancelled out that advantage with the game's first goal in the 25th minute. However, Jamalco found an equaliser from the boots of Micardo Lawl in the 37th minute before Wright's strike made their advance to the quarter-finals safe.

Woodhall, Coffals and Rock River also advanced in contrasting fashion. Woodhall didn't even have to take the field as Gimmi-me-bit failed to show, ensuring that Woodhall's 3-0 advantage from their first game remained intact. Coffals advanced 4-3 on aggregate after defeating Bucknor 2-0, thus overturning their 3-2 loss from the first encounter. New Roadsville failed to show for their return game against Rock River. However, Rock River had virtually been assured of advancing after winning the first leg 6-0.

Today, York Town will travel to Four Paths with a 1-0 advantage, while tomorrow, Little Brazil will take a similar advantage against Original Hazard at the Sheckles ground.

Howie Chin Prep School league

The inaugural Manchester FA/Howie Chin Prep School league will continue next Tuesday with matches being hosted at Belair Prep.

At 1 p.m., Emmanuel will go up against Mt St Joseph, while in the feature at 2:15 p.m., Mt St Joseph will oppose hosts Belair.

The competition kicked off two Fridays ago with hosts Mt St Joseph Prep and Emmanuel Prep playing to a 1-1 draw. Belair opened their season with a 3-1 win over Emmanuel.

Matches in the third round will be played next Friday at Brooks Park.

The competition is played in honour of former Brumalia House/Locker Room managing director and Manchester FA executive, Howie Chin, who died last year.

Pines hunt historic title against Colours

Twin brothers Damion and Andre Bryce will lead Portmore Pines' charge when they battle an experienced Colours International side in the final of the Wray and Nephew White Overproof Rum Portmore Cricket League at the Bridgeport sports ground tomorrow starting at 11 a.m. Bryce has struck three centuries and compiled over 500 runs in six matches. He will get support from teenage batsman Terrence Brown, and his brother, Andrew Bryce, who is dangerous with both bat and ball.

Colours, seeking a third title in a row, have the ammunition to go all the way. They have in their line-up, batsmen Bryan Latore, former Jamaica opener Delroy Morgan, national junior player Ramone Senior, and the crafty spinner, Kerry Scott. The teams are playing for the Tony Becca Cup.

Frazer's Whip look to maintain lead

New leaders Frazer's Whip, with nine points, will travel to Homestead this afternoon to play DB Basovak in a LIME St Catherine FA Major League match. In a Portmore derby at the Waterford High School field, Rodwood, who eliminated Portsmouth 3-0 from the 'Happy' Sutherland KO, will have the edge.

Christian Pen play another Portmore side, Dunbeholden, at the Christian Pen field, Wanderers, the only team to defeat Frazer's Whip this season, take aim at former leaders Black Lions at the Passagefort field, while Spanish Town Police are at home against McCook's Pen.

All games begin at 3 p.m. Frazer's Whip marksman, Codean Smikle, scored three times in the 15th, 39th and 78th minutes as his team shot to the top of the tables with a 3-1 win over Tru-Juice last Sunday. Rodwood (eight points) surprised Black Lion (eight points) 1-0. The Waterford-based team's top striker, Mark Walters, scored the lone goal on the stroke of half-time. In other games, McCook's Pen blanked Christian Pen 3-0 in a home fixture. Duvaughn Lee (58th), Santana Findlayton (60th) and Olanzo Brown (90th) were the scorers.

Spanish Town Police beat Portsmouth 1-0 with the winner coming from Romaine Blair in the 16th minute, while Dunbeholden drew 1-1 with DB Basovak.

Caribbean Classic poised for third win

Defending champions Caribbean Classic are fancied to register their third straight win of the season in the Impulse-sponsored Portmore/St Catherine Domino League when they host Westchester Nuckuz at their Portmore Boulevard home ground, Portmore Gardens, tomorrow morning. Classic are coming off an easy 300-246 win over Correctional Services while Westchester Nuckuz were whipped 300-226 by Eradication.

In other games, it's Caymanas Track vs Seamaster; Hurricane vs Black Rooster; Right Stuff vs Spring Village; Fort International vs Triple X Old Harbour Bay; Masterpiece vs Passagefort United; Garveymeade vs Ackee Pod; Colours Sports Club vs Correctional services, and ISCF vs Ken's Wildflower. Home teams are named first and all games begin at 11:30 a.m.

Hellshire, East Portmore make semis

Hellshire United and East Portmore Portals advanced to the semi-finals of the Colin Fagan-sponsored Portmore Division Two knockout football competition after they scored identical 1-0 wins over Bridgeport and Braeton United at the Passagefort field last Sunday.

The competition continues tomorrow with Westchester tackling one of the favourites for the title, Westport, at the Passagefort field. Match time 3 p.m.
