Imminent elections or not, from MoBay to Kingston, Jamaicans are having a good time!

Thursdaytalk - Hottest topics on the cocktail circuit

Big campaign money

1. It might be shaping up to be a lean Christmas for some, but for some on the political campaign trail, it's already Christmas, with many licking their fingers from donations! Story is one candidate has even received a new car and yet another has made a deposit on a fancy home!

True or not?

2. Some say internal polls say a certain one is in danger of being voted out of the constituency, and so there's renewed talk about shifts.

They aren't talking!

3. There are some unaccounted for motor vehicles in the current cass-cass, but those who know aren't talking and those who want to know don't know where to look or who to ask, so some might get off lightly, driving happily ever after!

Non-refundable deposit

4. The corruption was deep and wide as the story now making the rounds is that legitimate contractors who wanted to participate in the programme are now alleging that they were required to pay a non-refundable deposit to be considered for inclusion!

Justice mess

5. More and more people are now convinced that the justice system is now in need of deep overhauling. They say proper checks and balances are now needed, not just in the administering of justice but to check the egos of those charged temporarily with the administration, as some administrators seem to think that they are above the law and behave like a law unto themselves!
