With the festive season closing in, promoters of the annual event, Club Barcode, have come up with the concept of Christmas mixes. According to the Barcode team, on Saturday, December 17, at Club Privilege, New Kingston, there will be free Appleton mixes for the entire night in accordance with the Christmas spirit.

Club Barcode runs from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m.

Director of execution and planning for Barcode organisers JEM, Jason McNeish, said this Christmas the plan is to make loyal patrons feel special.

"This festive season we are offering a Christmas special for our patrons," he said.

The event, which started as an outdoor party, is using the theme, 'Mixes Of XXX-Mas', for the first time since being transformed into Club Barcode. However, it will maintain the same admission price despite having free mixes.

"All patrons will be treated as VIPs and will have access to Appleton mixes all night, and the price is literally unbeatable - no increases, only $1,000," McNeish said.

The first 50 ladies to bring Barcode flyers to the venue will receive free admission.

McNeish disclosed that the mixes will represent the colours of Christmas, thereby creating that Christmas atmosphere within the event.

The mixes will include the Santa Rum Sorrel, North Pole Punch, The Grinch, Ho Ho HOE and Mogul's Special. "This is where the celebration begins and from our decor to the beverages will represent that celebration. It's also the end of exams and we are looking to destress the college people who are normally our main followers," he said.

Club Barcode will feature four top DJs, the names of which McNeish did not wish to disclose. However, he did promise that good music will be delivered.

"We want to surprise our patrons. Not even our radio ads will give away the names, but good music is guaranteed. We are known to deliver good music and fun, which is why we have had a steady following over the years," he said confidently.

Quality experience

Club Barcode is on its ninth staging and has pulled up to 800 patrons for a single staging in the past. McNeish believes the event can maintain its following. "We give quality experience with a quality product and so we expect a positive turnout. Patrons are already contacting us for tickets and making their queries, so the anticipation is high," he said.

There will be detox bar and security will be provided by Club Privilege and police personnel. "We have always placed necessary steps into action to protect our patrons. The detox bar is going to be an important element because its Christmas and people tend to drink a lot in celebration. We want each patron to reach home safely to their families," McNeish said.

He had further words of encouragement to share with Club Barcode potential patrons.

"Inside the club means rain or shine we will still party. It will be vibes all night, so come and enjoy the Appleton mixes and celebrate the end of exams and the beginning of the festive season," he said.
