They are regarded as one of the chic and happening couples on the social scene.

He, the dapper and affable Dr Laurie Broderick, minister of state in the Ministry of Mining and Energy, and one-time entrepreneur; while she, the absolutely head-turningly fab Sandra Gregory, a fashion stylist, known for her ease of manner and naturalness. So when the news of their betrothal was made public some time ago, it was welcomed and celebrated by friends and family, near and far. Indeed, with the news came great anticipation, as the wedding became one of the most anticipated events on the social calendar, and saw many positioning themselves to make the final cut!

Well, last Saturday afternoon, the couple, who met in 1994, and actually started dating in November 2004, decided on walking the aisle, and did so in fine and resplendent style at the Pavilion, at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel, and luvs, it was a 'wow' moment and then some!

Dears, slated for a 4:30 p.m. start, guests were in place as early as an hour before, but it was closer to half-past five before the bride and her party made their grand appearance, she looking absolutely stunning in a form-fitting Drenna-Luna creation, boasting a modest train but absolutely form-flatteringly fab! With the appearance of the bridal party, the groom and his groomsmen, who were sharing cocktails with guests, then took their position at the altar.

Well my daahlings, y'all would have enjoyed this wedding, as it one was a fab-fest and nothing but as from the bride made her appearance, looking like the reigning princess of fabulousness, it was clear that this was not to be one of your run-of-the-mill boring ceremonies. It was more so in the vein of an afternoon of relaxed mode, with emphasis on everyone being able to enjoy and celebrate the occasion.

Officiated by the Reverend Martin Chaade, it was memorable for its clarity and brevity, while embracing all the essence of the occasion without being a drag! The bride entered the Pavilion on the arm of her daughter, Nicole Francis, and, with her party, joined her groom and his men at the altar. The ceremony did not last more than 12 minutes, the couple, after the ceremony of the rings, were pronounced man and wife. And following their signing of the register, exited the Pavilion to approving applause for the commencement of the celebrations!
As guests joined the bridal party for the reception and as they showered the newly-weds with wishes and commendations over cocktails, there was no mistaking that this was a celebration of love! But it was during the dinner and toasts that it became more palpable as with Kingsley Cooper as MC, guests were pleasantly surprised by the fulsome joy that both bride and groom not only shared, but took to the occasion, as the groom, in his toast, spun a fab little tale that was part love story/part political speech for the many constituents who were in attendance. And the bride's reply came in the form of songs, as she dedicated Turn Your Lights Down Low, Perfidia and If You Knew to her hubby, ea0rning resounding applause!

And the toasts got better, as the bride's daughter also toasted in songs; as did singer and BFF to the bride, the fab Ashley Martin; and climaxed with a performance from Bunny Brown, formerly of the Heptones. Dears, we are talking a fun-filled, fab and relaxed wedding and celebration here that will long be remembered for its style and ease as following dinner and toasts, the blessing of the wedding cake by the spiritual adviser to the groom, Pastor Rose, from Rhoden Hall, Clarendon; and the scramble by single women for the bridal bouquet, guests were entertained beautifully by the talented Althea Gibbons and the Pon Fire Band!

Dears, the celebrations continued way into the night and it was all fab, with among those celebrating with the couple were sister to the groom, the charming Patricia Broderick-Taylor; Security Minister Senator Dwight Nelson; Justice Minister Delroy and Pat Chuck; Labour Minister Pearnel Charles; Health Minister Ruddy Spencer and his fiancée, the lovely Nadene McKay; newly appointed Works Minister Shahine Robinson; Senator Tom and Rose Tavares-Finson; Karl Samuda and wife Pauline; Mike Henry and his stunning wife Dawn Chambers-Henry; Derrick Smith and his charmingly lovely wife Carlene Smith; James Robertson and his wife, style doyenne Charlene Robertson; Dr St Aubyn Bartlett; the controversial Everald Warmington; Dr Paul Brown and wife, the fab Kay Brady-Brown; Joan Gordon-Webley; businessman Ribbie Chung; the charming R. Christene King; the affable Dwight Moore and his fabulous wife Sharon; Dennis Morgan; Marva Bloomfield-Clarke; Garth and Kimi Walker; the stunning Romae Gordon; the lovely Dollis Campbell; the fab Millicent Lynch; the lovely Dominique Francis; with the bridal party complete by best man Harold Brady; groomsmen Kingsley Cooper and Colin Leslie; chief bridesmaid the fab Kathryn Phipps and maids, Shelly Gregory, Michelle Gregory and Murdella Holmes.

It was a fab celebration, with the couple's honeymoon now on hold until after December 29!
