Election will not stop MoBay Seafood Festival
Montego Bay, St James:
The impending general election will not deter the organisers of MoBay Seafood Festival slated for December 26 at Dump-Beach in Montego Bay, as they plan an extraordinary family event that involves Tifa and Chris Martin.
"We are pressing on in our preparations for our event. It is something for the family during this festive period. There is life before and after our elections, and we intend to serve up a delicious culinary and entertainment package for the family come next week," Chevanne Lawrence of Knockturnal Entertainment Group explained.
The inaugural staging of MoBay Seafood Festival will feature the likes of Dancehall sensation Tifa and reggae artiste Chris Martin, something Lawrence feels proud about.
Family-oriented event
"In the absence of great family events during the festive period in the second city, we wanted to ensure that Montego Bay is treated to a nice family-oriented event where they can enjoy the best in seafood and in entertainment. Tifa and Chris have the capacity and creativity to deliver to our target audience, and we are pleased to have them as part of the entertainment feature at MoBay Seafood Festival," Lawrence said.
There will be a Kiddies Village (with popcorn, cotton candy, bounceabout, coupled with games and giveaways), a variety of creatively prepared seafood, coupled with great entertainment from DJs Crazy Neil, Crazy Chris, Classique and Baby Thug.
The promoter, who is making a transition from parties to more family-friendly events, indicated his intent to make MoBay Seafood Festival an annual calendar event.
"Jamaica is renowned for its food and ability to entertain. We want locals and tourists alike to be able to partake of something that fuses culture and food in a safe environment during the Christmas period, and we believe MoBay Seafood Festival is the event to offer that," he said
Tickets are $500 for adults and $800 after 6 p.m. Children pay $300.
