What two issues should the new Government focus on in its first 100 days?
It would be job creation, productivity, to get production going again, so that the littlest man on the road can start feeling the effects.
Also, the new Government must address the education system, because you have too many children leaving school who are illiterate. That can cause us to lose a whole generation, and Jamaica would be in bigger crisis further down the road.

It would be to provide job opportunities for the youths. Too many youths can't find a job, even after obtaining tertiary-level education. That is what at times contributes to some youths turning to crime. They don't have anything to do.
The next thing is education. Too many youths leaving primary school can't read and write. The Government needs to implement special programmes to cut that out.

What I would want the Government to do during its first 100 days in office is to do a little bit more for students where education is concerned. I would want them to reduce fees, so that we can have the privilege to sit exams.
Second, it's really hard for students to study hard and have to be travelling out of your country to get jobs. So I would like the new Government to make some changes so that we can get jobs when we are finished studying. We are here and we should get jobs after studying to contribute to our country. If that can happen, I think Jamaica would grow and the country would improve.

The first thing the Government needs to do is renegotiate the contract with the IMF so that whatever conditionality the IMF will be putting the country under will not affect the masses as strenuously as this current agreement has done.
In terms of employment, they're coming up with this call centre and hotel thing. I think we need to focus less on this short-term thing and really grow the economy, so that young people can either get a job. Cut all the red tape so that persons who have great ideas can actually create their own jobs.

For the first 100 days, the Government should focus on opening up the job sector. That is a critical area that needs to be addressed. There are lots of students, recent (university) graduates as well as long-time graduates, who are unable to find a job in their field, and jobs that pay enough to enable them to pay back student loans.
Also, employers should revise the qualifications for some jobs with a view to reducing the amount of experience that is required to fill the post. It's impossible to find a new graduate with 12 years' experience, it's just ridiculous.

The first thing I want the Government to deal with is to get some jobs for the young people. That is very important. The next thing is education. I would like to see the children go to school from morning till evening, so I would like to see the shift system done with. School must keep all day from 8 a.m. till 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. So I would o' like to see the Government start planning to build some more schools so that the shift thing cut out.

The first two things I would like to see the new Government do is to create more jobs for young people. Also, most of the roads in the country are not proper. They should try to fix the roads.
Where jobs are concerned, all I'm saying is that they should create jobs, build factories like clothes factories, chips factories and other factories. They can't build them in the first 100 days, but look at how they can do that in the long term, so that we can get work.
The roads are terrible, so the party that wins should fix them.
