Celebrating like rock stars, these three young women partied up a storm, dancing to the sounds of Byron Lee's Dragonaires at the Sunset Beach Resort and Spa in Montego Bay.

It was difficult not to photograph Kiman Wray, as she reminded Outlook of the famous Grace Jones (except for the height, of course) at the Sunset Beach Resort and Spa New Year's Eve party.

WESTERN BUREAU:Sir Paul McCartney and Lady McCartney; designer Stella McCartney; CNN's Janet Rolle, who spent years building the BET empire; Polo's Ralph Lauren and his wife, Ricky, made up the A-listers who rang in the new year in Jamaica.

Jamaica remains one of the most exciting destinations for celebrities and, although we didn't meet her, the Africa-born Miss Universe, Leila Lopes, and X-Files' David Duchovny were just a few of the people cooling out on the rock last weekend.

The Round Hill Hotel and Villas in Hanover housed many of them. So did Chris Blackwell's GoldenEye in St Mary. And as much as we would have wanted to attend the parties in the east of the island, it was the west that burned hot.

Roving across city

In the Second City, where there were at least 10 events to choose from, Outlook covered at least eight of them, starting the night at Round Hill, ringing in 2012 at Sunset Beach Resort and Spa with Byron Lee's Dragonaires and CVM TV; rubbed shoulders with the young at Blue Beat Ultra Lounge, and closed Sunday morning with the Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Beenie Man and Bounty Killer lovers at Sonny Rankine's Total Togetherness ball in Rose Hall.

Yes, a number of parties did not happen this year, but there was so much to cover, they were hardly missed!
