From sinfully delicious desserts to delectable salmon slices, roasted lamb, curried deer, seafood pasta and more, whatever you craved it was at the Shaggy and Friends show held at Jamaica House last Saturday, January 7.

Patrons in the Platinum section were treated to absolutely fantastic cuisine from some of the island's top caterers. And to top it off, they dined in an elegantly decorated area. Jacqui Tyson and her team pulled out all the stops with comfy silver-painted iron chairs and cosy cushioned seating covered with zebra stripes. There were also beautifully decorated ottomans and bistro tables strategically placed in close proximity to well-stocked bars and food tents so patrons would not have to go too far to get a drink or something to eat.

Cooking tradition

It was one big soirée, and in the same way that patrons came to show off their outfits, chefs too were on parade. But while the seasoned chefs showed off their cooking skills, the stars of the show were 15-year-old Daniel-Niel Gordon and Kyle Gooden, who had patrons lining up at their station in the Gold section to get a taste of their spicy garlic shrimp and Thai fish. The two are best friends and come from families of chefs. It is only natural they follow the cooking tradition. Both boys had the support of the families and even the younger siblings got in the mix and helped out with serving.

While patrons in the silver section had to purchase food, KFC had scores of patrons waiting to purchase some tasty fried chicken. They were also treated to other caters and some in particular raved about the tasty mannish water done by Oasis on the Oxford.

After eating all that delectable food, patrons in the Platinum and Gold sections lined up at the Häagen-Dazs booths for their treat of ice cream. And no doubt they did a number on The Jamaica Pegasus hotel's station of sinfully delicious desserts. From what Food observed, several gyms will be getting some new members during the course of the week.
